I started out the day trying to take pictures of some squirrels in the trees outside my house for my 50-50-50 project. They were not happy with my presence, as I was apparently standing in prime nut gathering territory. Given that it was freezing outside, I gave up pretty easily, and wasn’t too happy with my results.
However, later that day I headed to the Conowingo Dam to check out the eagles and herons that winter there – very cool. Haven’t had time to process all the pictures yet, but am pretty happy with how they turned out, despite my lack of super-telephoto lenses. I made due with my 55-250 lens, though I was a bit envious of the guys carrying around a $5,000 camera body with a $6,000 lens attached. I think that is more than my car is currently worth (but at least the car is paid for)!
